End of Term 1
What a quick term it has been, and we’ve had lots to keep us very busy!
Primary 6 are the current leaders within our school for the Global Children’s Challenge. We love wearing our pedometers and all try to take part in more physical activity in order to up our steps and stay on top of Kirklandneuk’s leader board.
We have come to the end of our swimming block sadly. However we’ve had such great fun at the Victory Baths with our instructors. On the last day we got to wear our pyjamas and learned some survival techniques. We will soon be awarded our Swimming certificates and badges.
Primary 6 have been receiving some football training from pupils visiting from Renfrew High, and have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges they have set. Some pupils were also selected to take part in a tournament at the high school last week. Let’s just say with all this weather we’ve been having; we got a little bit wet! Nevertheless, we had a great afternoon.
For our R.M.E. topic we have been learning about ‘Christianity in the Churches’. Mr Hawthorne very kindly came to our class with a fabulous presentation and activities to help us learn more about the topic. After the October holiday we will be visiting Trinity Parish Church to visit Rev. Steele and gain more knowledge about the topic.
Mrs Hutchison comes to our class on a Thursday afternoon to teach us some great music activities to help gain more knowledge of notes, beat, pitch and rhythm. We have such a great time joining in and moving around the class.
On Tuesday afternoons Miss Fulton teaches us French. At the moment we are learning how to discuss the weather in French. We really enjoy learning a new language as it’s a valuable skill to have.
We have also prepared and presented our solo talks to the class. Miss Paterson was very impressed with her confident pupils. We have done so much in term 1 so here are some photographs for you to browse. :)
