February 2012

Primary 6 year group demonstrating a 33 person balance as one of our gymnastics challenges. Very impressive!

February 2012

Primary 6 are well under way with their ‘secret topic’ and have been working hard on making models, painting with water colours and producing fabulous pieces of writing to be displayed.

The class have enjoyed a workshop recently from the Scottish SPCA informing us on ways to preserve our beautiful Scottish wildlife. Our co-ordinator for the morning, Marianne, was very impressed with the amount of facts we had remembered since last year. We particularly enjoyed the classifying activity and trump cards.

Primary 6 have also signed up to an Enterprise Challenge set up by Blythswood Care. Our challenge is to make £20.00 grow as much as possible by co-ordinating an event in school which will help raise money for Blythswood Care’s after school centre, Talita Kum, in Jimbolia, Romania. There will be prizes for the most money raised, most creative project and quality of the pupils’ written report. Fingers crossed our idea will raise funds to help this worthy cause.

We have also been recording how many times we walk to school and bring our water bottles to school. Mrs Gray will organise a special treat of a Dodge Ball tournament if our results show that we are improving on our health and wellbeing by walking more and drinking more water.
