Christmas is coming!

To start off Term 2 we decided to make some fabulous Solar System mobiles in our co-operative learning groups. The mobiles were fantastic and looked great hanging in our classroom. You will also notice that some of us are not wearing our school uniforms! Don't worry; this was all in aid of World Book Day to raise funds for our wonderful Parent Run Library. Even Miss Paterson got into the spirit of things and dressed up too!

We had the honour of being involved in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal organised by The New Hope Trust. Primary 6 worked hard to gather donations, shoeboxes and wrapping paper. We then split into teams to sort, wrap, pack, label and check all the boxes. All of the parents, pupils and staff's kind donations will be sent to Eastern European countries to children who are less fortunate than many of us. Primary 6 really hope that we can put a smile on some children's faces this Christmas. Once again Primary 6 and Miss Paterson send our thanks to all that donated.

Our Christmas Fayre was a success at the end of November and our Glam Tissue Boxes went down a treat. We helped raise some funds for the school which was great.

December has been a very busy month for Primary 6, as we had our St Andrew's Assembly and on that same day our St Andrew's Day Celebrations along with P6 pupils from Mrs Irving's class. Both events were a success and Primary 6 truly deserve credit for their hard work and preparations for the day. We had a slight technical hitch with music at our Ceilidh, however that did not stop us as we ploughed on through and entertained our parents and special guests. Miss Paterson is very proud of us and commented on how professional we all were about it. The Ceilidh raised money for the school funds and our Assembly raised money for our chosen charity: The Rainbow Trust.

We are very excited this week as we are really getting into the Christmas spirit with the Concerts, Panto and Christmas Parties coming up. Our Christmas Concert song is 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' by The Cadillacs.

Merry Christmas
